EARL'S HOME WELCOMES DAYTIME VISITORS

CORPORATE EVENTS & PRIVATE TOURS AT ARGYLL’S LODGING
Historic Scotland is pleased to announce it can now welcome business clients to one of the country’s finest medieval town houses.

Argyll’s Lodging, located near the spectacular Stirling Castle, is already well-known as a high-quality venue for evening corporate events and activities.
From Easter there will be great opportunities to enjoy the fine surroundings of the 17th century former residence of the rich and powerful earls of Argyll.
Clients will now be able to hire the lodgings for small meetings, seminars and lunch in the High Dining Room, where the earl’s entertained their most important guests.
Private tours, followed by lunch, are available for incentive groups.
Catering will be by Nairn’s, assuring the same excellent standards as they provide at castle banquets.
Jayne McDonald, sales and marketing assistant manager, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be able to make Argyll’s Lodging available in the daytime as well as the evenings.
“As one of the country’s most historic buildings, and offering superb catering, we believe it will be a popular option for clients wanting a top-quality venue within easy reach of the country’s major centres.”
The High Dining Room is highly impressive, decorated in the latest fashions of the 1670s for Edinburgh artist David McBeath.

Historic Scotland has recently refitted the kitchens to recall the days when they were used to prepared feasts for Scottish and English nobles.
The rest of the house is also furnished and decorated in keeping with the fashions of the period.
Guided tours are available to bring the lodging’s past to life with tales of the remarkable people and great events it has witnessed.
The lodging is at the heart of Stirling’s picturesque old town.
A particular benefit is that the city is at the heart of the country’s motorway network and has a major railway station. This makes it convenient for Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen and it is less than an hour’s drive from Edinburgh International Airport.
